I'm Walking......Yes, Indeed I'm Walking....For You and Me!
Eleanor Roosevelt once said: "You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing you think you cannot do."
I've decided to do something this year that I never thought I would or could do...I'm going to celebrate my 50th birthday by walking 60 miles! I'm going to sleep in a tent, use porta potties, take showers in a truck and endure countless blisters on my feet. I'll spend hours doing training walks and almost as many hours trying to raise my pledge money. I'm doing this because I want to make a commitment in the fight against breast cancer. I'm walking to support and honor all women: mothers, sisters, daughters, aunts, cousins, nieces, co-workers, and best friends. I'm also walking to support and honor the men in their lives. I'm walking in hopes that my beautiful, intelligent grand-daughters (I'm not at all biased, by the way!), one of whom you see to the right, won't have to endure the effects of this disease.
